How to develop a true sense of value around your creations/business, that nurtures your feminine heart and helps you feel safe to sell

Something that I have noticed in my business is how much more inspiring and empowering it is to sell to people who have that true heart resonance with my work. The women who I know are truly valuing and deeply receiving what I offer. They see the heart of my work, without any pressure or subtle force from me, and it connects with and inspires their own heart.

Over the course of my business, I have seen more and more, how much I value and feel the energetic resonance of the people enrolling in my courses and buying my offerings. At first I only thought this energetic resonance was important for 1:1 work, where I was actually connecting face-to-face with my clients.

Yet I now see how deeply I feel and energetically sense every person who enters my business, regardless of whether I connect with them face-to-face. And in this, I have observed how much better it feels when I am having that energetic and financial exchange with women who feel the essence and heart of my creations from a place of deeper resonance, rather than from that more ‘quick fix’ energy.

It also made me understand how much more deeply our work can impact people when they are actually a true match for the type of value we offer through our work/service/creations.

Consciously understanding this within myself has shown me why connecting with the right people for our work (and within this, understanding who our work is truly for) has always been a central part of my feminine business/ gentle creation philosophy. Because drawing in customers and clients who our work is not resonating with at that true level, can be very draining for us energetically.

So why would we draw in those who are not quite right for our true work/service/creations?

Well, I find we can often unconsciously contort both out content/marketing and our work/service/creations for a number of reasons:

1. We are seeking to appeal to more people because we feel this will equal more sales.

2. We do not quite trust our unique expression, gifts, service, creations, so distil them into something that feels more ‘safe’ or appealing to the masses.

3. The way we most naturally express and create does not align with conventional business and marketing templates, so we feel pressured to create a more formulaic structure around our work- which sees us abandon the true essence of our work.

4. We struggle with who we and our business are within the creative-authority spectrum- on the one hand having a more authoritative/utilitarian approach that stems from being able to serve the needs and desires of a specific group of people, but on the other, having a more creative, non-linear, less tangible, internally-sourced mode of creation that focuses on values like beauty, connection, heart and externalising our inner visions in a creative way. (I speak more on the creative-authority spectrum in Content that Connects).

5. We are still unsure and figuring out what we are offering, who our work is best suited for and how to develop a way of translating and offering this.

6. We believe an offering will sell better if we use languaging and tactics that appeal to more people (even if this is not the best reflection of what we actually offer, or how we actually want to share our work).

A huge unconscious fear that I see in female heart-led businesses and soulful creating, is the fear of our authentic work not being enough.

And this is a very valid fear, because for many people who come across our work, it won’t be enough. Not because our work isn’t valuable, but because it is simply not for them.

If our message, content and creations are aligned and true to who we are and what we offer, the people who are not for us will not feel attracted our work and (hopefully) move on to some-one or something that can truly serve them. Yet if we have been contorting and distilling our content and creations to try to create a more mass appeal, or because we think that our authentic gifts and creativity should be different, or because we think we must replicate what we have already seen, we begin to attract people to our work who do not have the natural resonance that will allow them to truly receive and gain value from our business/creative work.

This leads to a much bigger conversation around how feminine unworthiness develops- in life, relationships and business- when we mask and contort who we authentically are because we unconsciously believe we must be appealing and useful to everyone.

We may receive the sales, the relationship, the approval- but if these things are not created from a space of authentic heart, they will come with a feeling of emptiness, of not being seen, of not feeling valued in our natural and true gifts and deeper essence.

I know that for some, business is a place where you have to ‘get over yourself’ and stop being so sensitive, and every sale is a sale, and who cares who it comes from. But the feminine heart cannot operate from this mode, without feeling deeply compromised. A state that can easily cause either an unconscious withdrawal from her creativity and business, or alternatively, a sense of complete burnout and exhaustion from having to constantly ‘perform’ in her business, while overriding the truth of her heart and her creative path.

This is why connecting, not convincing, is a throughline in my work, and one that deepens more and more as time goes on. I believe our creativity and femininity thrives when we know our work is landing in resonant hearts, whereas it shrivels if we feel that we must continually prove our value to ill-fitting people.

From a broader perspective, I believe that as sensitive women, we come to accept and love both ourselves and others more deeply, when we understand that we do not need to please or gain the approval of everyone. Instead we can create and be and live in ways that move our heart and allow our creativity and service to flow naturally and intuitively. From here, our authentic work and being will emanate naturally into the lives and hearts of those who can gracefully receive and hear the unique song of our soul.
